Samsung YP-K3, unrecognised mp3 player for iSync

Firstly I'd like to say how brilliant this Mac has been for the past few days I've had it. Its performance is stunning.

However–my humble mp3 player, a 4GB Samsung YP-K3 isn't recognised per se. When it's plugged into the USB socket it charges, but it's nowhere to be seen on Finder, and indeed iSync, so I can't put anything new onto it.

So I have a full-battery mp3 player here, but can't get anything new on, which is fine for having music, but not very good for when what I have on starts to go old (now). I was wondering if anyone can suggest a (hopefully free) solution?

Cheers!

iSync is for syncing Contacts and Calendars to mobile phones and PDAs. It doesn't sync music to any devices.

From what I can find on Google, Samsung have not bothered to make the YP-K3 Mac-compatible, so unfortunately, it seems you won't be able use it with your Mac.

Perhaps now is a good time to get an iPod???

The iPod isn't the ONLY solution, it's only just one of the many mp3 players that are supported on the Mac OS. Unfortunately companies like Samsung fail to produce products with all consumers in mind. A lot of their new products are buggy and lack support for the lil guys. BUT that doesn't mean other players don't work. Just do your research when you find that perfect mp3 player. Check the packaging, do a Google search about Mac compatibility, and check out reviews.
That said, when you buy an iPod, you ARE guaranteed that it will work with Mac.

Hope this helps. (It might be old, but my sister is looking at getting a Mac, but has a Samsung K3 and we already knew it didn't work after we tried it on my Mac.

I have the same problem: not being able to put new music in my Samsung YP-K3.
But, it just occurred to me: could'nt we just install the Parallels Windows-Mac program to use Windows on the Mac just for the porpouse of managing the MP3's music?
I'm new in the mac world. Thanks for listening.

I had just the same problem. Creating a virtual machine with WMWare, and then using the Samsung software with Windows is a solution, but managing file sharing was a bit too much for me. So I googled a bit and found a free software that's called XNJB ( http://www.wentnet.com/projects/xnjb/). It looks like there's still some issues with it - it bugged several times on my computer (not much, but I had to restart the program). But still, it's good enough to manage my pretty Samsung.

Anyway, I hope someday Samsung will get us a mac-friendly software.
