"Please insert a blank disc..."

Alright, so I am trying to burn a few playlists to CD's. Every time I click "burn disc" and insert a blank CD, iTunes just flashes "Please insert a blank disc..." over and over, and then finally ejects the CD. The CD's I am using are Memorex "Black CD-R's". Help would be appreciated.

15in MacBook Pro, 2.2GHz. Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.5.2), 2GB DDR2 SDRAM. Shiney and Silver

Hey, thanks for the reply. Yeah, I just tried using an old Imation CD-R, and it worked! Well, this is slightly inconvenient. Would it have anything to do with the superdrive not being able to register Black(ish) tinted CD's (Memorex)? That's kinda lame. I am running iTunes on my XP Desktop, and just burned a playlist to a CD using the Black Memorex ones. Everything worked out fine on that. So is the problem that the superdrive is not able to detect dark CD's?

Like you, I could use the Memorex discs on other computers (I had/have a little PC running Linux that the discs worked fine with). I'm afraid I don't know what the problem was, I just gave up on Memorex since all other brands work fine for me. I've never used them since so I've no experience working with them with my current Mac.

Once again, thank you for your input. You've been a great help! What brand of CD-R's do you use? I need to go buy some of whatever kind, and I'd like to know which brands do and do not work so I don't waste money.

I've used a number of different brands from no name ones for quick throwaway applications to TDK, Maxell and Verbatim. As I said, the only ones I avoid are Memorex, apart from those I've never had any other brand that I tried fail on me.

Have you tried using a different brand of CD-R? I always had problems with Memorex discs on my old G3 iMac, other brands always worked fine for me but I could never use Memorex ones for some reason.
