My Library's Gone!

I'm more than a little bit peeved about this! My computer crashed so I had to manually restart it. When I next opened up itunes (which i think had been open at the point when my computer crashed) my entire library had gone, there was nothing there at all. So i went to the Itunes folder in My Music and there are three files that I thought might help me get it back:
"Itunes Library.itl"
"itunes library (damaged).itl" and
"itunes nusic library.xml"
however none of these files will let me import them into my itunes. Am i doing the wrong thing? Is there some way I can recover my library as it was? I really don't want to start it all over again because I had it so nicely organised!
