Does an iMac have phantom power?

Stupid question, but just on the off chance. Is there anyway to power my Samson C03 condenser mic, which needs a phantom power supply, from the iMac. I'm using the Samson S phantom power supply at the moment and am getting a really annoying hum. I'm guessing its something to do with the grounding in my plug socket, but I don't know anything at all about electrics. Does anyone know anything about this?? Cheers

tried that. still humming. the annoying thing is, when i unplug the AC adaptor from the power supply, the hum goes away. The power eventually fades, but for about 5 seconds I get a perfect sound. I've tried a different AC adaptor, but still get a hum. I've searched other forums which say that the iMac and the phantom power supply are "unbalanced" but not sure what that means. Any ideas anyone?

FWIW, I was playing around with a friend's interface this past week. It's a newish interface, nothing fancy, but not too cheap either. Anyway, it has both balanced and unbalanced outputs. For some reason, hooking up the unbalanced outputs to the monitors had a weird noise on them, not a typical grounding noise, while the balanced outputs to the monitors was noise-free. Go figure.

So... if there is a choice, balanced is better!
