Thank you very much for your response, although, I do find the information helpful that was not exactly what I was asking. I was speaking specifically about the power output used to power external devices. I have a peripheral device that runs off of the power put out by the USB ports and even though it worked in the past, it no longer gets enough power to work. It does not pull more than the USB standard power. The thought was that the USB port power has degraded or been changed by some setting, inadvertently. I am hoping there is a way to get the power output back up to standard without taking it in to get fixed.
Now your system specifications list your iBook as a G4. Did I miss that before? If so, I'm sorry.

You may have noticed that you have posted in the iBook G3 (Dual USB) Forum.
The iBook G4 does have USB 2.0 ports.
