USB power settings.

Is there a way to change the power output settings to the USB ports. I have found a couple people that say they have seen this option but can't remember how to do it. From my search of the various discussions and forums, I am starting to think this is a myth. Does anyone know about this and how to do it?

Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.

No. The USB ports on an iBook G3 are USB 1.1 and there's no way to change that. (I think that's what you're asking?)

Thank you very much for your response, although, I do find the information helpful that was not exactly what I was asking. I was speaking specifically about the power output used to power external devices. I have a peripheral device that runs off of the power put out by the USB ports and even though it worked in the past, it no longer gets enough power to work. It does not pull more than the USB standard power. The thought was that the USB port power has degraded or been changed by some setting, inadvertently. I am hoping there is a way to get the power output back up to standard without taking it in to get fixed.
