why does my monitor keep blinking?

my monitor blinks every minute. i have tried everything (well, i guess not everything because it's still doing it) but still it keeps blinking. it is horribly annoying. any help, please?

Go to your universal access preference pane and make sure that the "flash the screen when an alert sound occurs" under the hearing tab is not checked.
