Oct 28, 2005 9:39 AM in response to Algerby normnod,Tiger generates Safe Preferences when it detects corrupted normal preferences.
During testing of pre-release versions I did have this happen a couple of times - the OS will pop up a dialogue box saying something along the lines of " New preferences have been created for <application>, do you want to use these now?". Ordinarily you will find that the originals are fine and can be used, however, you must delete the safe pref or the OS will keep asking you if you want to use it. -
