Connecting iPod touch to a PS3

Hi,

is it possible for an iPod to connect to a Sony Playstation 3 ?

I have tried my brothers new iPod Nano (4gb) and my old iPod nano and they are both recognised by the console when connected via the USB cable and I can transfer music files.

However, when I connect the 16gb Touch in the same way nothing happens at all.

Has anyone managed to connect one to the console ?

Hi,

I don't know at all why isn't your iPod Touch being recognized by the PS3. Although you may find [this article|http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/08/04/09/iphone to_interface_with_playstation_3_blu_rayplayback.html] interesting and helpful in the future.

I know exactly why your iPod touch isn't recognised by the PS3 but the iPod nano's are.

It's because the iPod touch doesn't have a 'Disk Mode' which allows it to be seen by other devices as a USB Mass Storage device.

There's no workaround for this for the PS3, but there is some third-party Mac software which allows the iPod touch and iPhone to be used as a disk when connected to a Mac.

As much as I know the 3G iPod Nano, doesn't have the "Disk Mode" just like the iPod Touch

All iPods have disk mode, with the exception of the iPod touch.
Look at the iPod nano (3rd gen) page 46
