iMovie- Audio Editing Problems

Question

iMovie- Audio Editing Problems

Basically here is the situation. When i click on a video in my project and then click adjust audio. I do not get the adjust audio pop-up but just the skimming line over my video with a red dot in the center of the skimming line. I have tried restarting iMovie and removing the video and then inserting it again. However time an time again iMovie will not let me adjust the audio on my video. I have got to the point of pulling my hair out over this issue. *PLEASE HELP!!*

Mac Book Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.2), Latest version of iMovie 08

The Macanator,

It could be that the Audio Adjustments window has been moved almost off the edge of your screen.

Look around the very edges of your monitor and see if it's not there somewhere.

Thanks Matt for the quick reply. I have double checked screen and the audio adjustments pop-up is no where to be seen. If you want i can email you screenshots of the problem. Cheers, The Macanator

When you click the Voice Over, Crop or Adjust Video buttons, do you see their windows open?

I don't think seeing a screen shot would help. It sounds like everything looks right, it's just the little adjustment window isn't showing.

I have just tried the voice over utility and the crop utility and both of those work thine. However the graphic and sound utility are not working. Again, i looked on the other parts of my screen for the pop-up however it is yet to be seen.

The next thing I'd try is quitting iMovie.

Then move this file to your desktop

User>Library>Preferences>com.apple.imovie7.plist

Now restart iMovie and see if you can get the Audio and Video adjustment windows to show.

You have made my day! I did exactly as you said and now i am getting the pop-up menus for the graphic and audio adjustment utilities. I have deleted the file on my desktop and all seems to working fine still. Thanks X a million. I owe you 1 The Macanator
