I saw a gadget show on the BBC that mentioned scanners with ICE [image correction equipment] for helping to improve quality of old photos when scanning.
Can anyone recommend the topscanners with this ability,
Thank you.
I have a Nikon Super CoolScan 5000 ED that uses ICE. It is phenomenal what it can do. A friend asked me to see if I could salvage a slide that appeared to be various shades of red and nothing else. While the results were not exactly what I would have gotten with a brand new slide, there were quite acceptable. You could now see that there were three children playing in the snow.
I use an old Nikon Coolscan III (also discontinued). It is a SCSI interface, that I use with a Ratoc Firewire adapter.
The ol' scanner really makes lovely scans, and ICE really does help with defects, and dust and dirt, on a slide or film.
eBay may be your source for a discontinued model of film scanner.
