How durable is the Ipod classic's

I like to do a lot of walking. But some times jog and run. Will it hold up or should I buy a Nano.If I get the classic. Should I get the extended warranty? One other question. What head phones or ear buds do you recommend? Thanks for the help.

Its a good thing I found this pose, I was wondering this myself. The only other hard drive based mp3 player was the Creative Zen Touch. I loved that thing and it took one heck of a beating. I just ordered an Ipod Classic 80GB and was wondering which case to buy. I have a 8gb nano with a Griffin case and it fits snuggle, but I was wondering what other would suggest. Any ideas?

I'v used my iPod (5G... just upgraded to classic) for the past 4-5 yrs working out 5 to 6 times a week. I invested in an armband (with one of those rubber iPod cases) and I have never had to replace it. I have never had issues with the iPod malfunctioning while running or lifting weights. My battery finally died and rather than replacing it I decided to just invest in the latest model. I like the variety.
