View of iChat to AIM users

When I use iChat to talk to people on AIM, none of my fonts or colors show up on the AIM screen. For example, though my bubble says I have a green background with black arial font, AIM users see my type as black type with a white background in a Times New Roman font. Is there any way to change this?

Hi

I may be wrong but I think that's more to do with the their bubble settings rather than yours?

No, because AIM doesn't even have bubbles. I'm off the bubble setting, but no matter what I seem to do, no matter what font or colors I choose, it always appears as black and white TIMES to other users using AOL Instant Messenger.

Yep it is the AIM end that does this.

I'm running into a similar problem; since upgrading to Leopard a few days ago, my friends have complained that my text is showing up as larger (16 pt) than usual. I checked my own font settings and everything is the same (Helvetica 12), so I don't know what to do to fix this...

Right, I understand that it's on AIM's end that everything's different, but is there anything I can do to change it?
