Popularity / Frequency bar in iTunes store

What does the bar say? The number of downloads? If so, how can one see how many times it has been downloaded. My questions derives from a podcast I submitted and the frequency bar was suddenly with may length ...

It could also be the number of accesses (which does not necessarily mean downloads).

Particularly, as a podcast owner it would be of interest how often the item is downloaded.

Does anyone know?

Hi Frizzante,

In the Podcast case, I'm pretty sure it is based on the number of subscribers who added the show to their iTunes podcast catcher.

Hope this helps!

The frequency bar of my specific podcast changes virtually every day. Sometimes, it is maximum length and sometimes the length is only two dots. Therefore, I would like to know how many, for instance, subscribe/d it.

I suspect that the length of the bar is not an indicator to absolute numbers but stands in relation to the other titles within the search criteria.
