More software instruments?

I want more software instruments, but I don't really want more loops. Does anyone know where to buy more native Garageband software instruments? I'm not really looking for AU plugins, or soundfonts. I would prefer them to be just like the native ones. Apple should really consider making an instrument pack, as I bet I'm not the only one wanting this. It would be happy to pay $100 for a nice selection of new instruments, some good Hammond, Wurlitzer, some good saxes etc, that would make GB much nicer IMO.

My experience is they just don't sound as good usually, and can be cumbersome. I'll definitely give them a go, but still I'd like some native sounds. It would be cool if Apple made the internal EXS-derived sampler more robust as well, not to the degree of Logic of course but giving more options would be nice. I haven't used Garageband in a while and am waiting on my new MacBook, but last time I looked the options were really basic.

ok, so now I have my nice new Black Mackbook and I actually did have some extra sounds from a few years ago, Advanced Modular XLD, which is 150 synths that are native GB samples. They are OK, but what I really wanted was more saxes, organs, traditional instruments and ethnic stuff, not really more synths. But after playing with GB 08, I do think I'll be able to deal with soundfonts and my own edits of the built-in instruments, and I'm dl'ing the Kore player from NI. That is a huge DL but hopefully the 50 built-in instruments it comes with will work in GB, and if that is the case then I can purchase some of their sound packs. I think I'm good now 🙂

Go here. These are brilliant and FREE! Note that these are not soundfonts, but are EXS-based.
