Here is an odd one...over the last three months, I've purchased all of the episodes to Eli Stone and loaded them on my iPod (that's a terrific show, by the way). All of the episodes view fine on my MacBook Pro running 10.4.11. The first 10 episodes all worked fine on my iPod, but the last two will not play, no matter what--no video, no sound, no nothing. I've deleted them and reloaded them, no change. One thing that coincided with the start of the problem is that I upgraded my iPod software to the current version, but not sure why that would cause this problem. Every other file on the iPod works fine, just these two pain-in-the-behind Eli Stone episodes. Any idea what the problem is and how to resolve it?
I downloaded "Always be my baby" by David Cook from American Idol. It plays on my mac just fine, but WON'T play on my 80gig iPod! 😟 I reported to iTunes... Hopefully they'll find a resolution soon, cause I want this song in my life!!!!
This is definitely an iPod problem, not an iTunes problem. I spent 49 minutes on the phone with Apple Tech Support yesterday, they don't expect the engineers to have an answer until early next week.
In the meantime I can't watch the Daily Show at lunch! Horrors, I might have to read. ;>)
I am having the same problem with my iPod and the post-writer's strike epi of Desperate Housewives. I bought two versions, downloaded, erased, etc. Still not able to view. All other episodes work fine that I downloaded a month ago work fine on my iPod...
I am having the same problem with 2 different shows, the latest episode of ****'s Kitchen and New Amsterdam. All my older episodes play fine on my iPods but these 2 will download and play great on the PC but on the iPod they just flash a PLAY arrow for a sec or 2 and then freeze up for about 15 seconds and return to the menu. This is lame and the only thing I can think of timewise is the latest Itunes upgrade. I tried this on 2 computers and 3 iPods so I know its not me. I should have not downloaded the last update since it did nothing for me since I don't have a touch iPod nor a iPhone. Any ideas?
Just adding my voice to the chorus. I have a season pass for The Daily Show, and starting with the 4/10/08 episode, none of the ones since then will play on my iPod. They will play on my MacBook Pro. Older episodes from TDS and other shows do play back fine on my iPod, though.
Exact same problem happening here - downloaded shows play fine on computer and seem to sync to Ipod, but won't play on the Ipod. Both for season passes to "The Soup" and "Desperate Housewives". I've contacted Apple/Itunes support twice and just keep getting sent links to help articles. I've tried all, and all don't work. Honestly, this problem is infuriating. I would be interested if anyone gets a response to this that actually works. Thanks.
I reported this problem to Apple and they are trying to solve it. They have been very responsive to my emails. I think the problem may have something to do with season passes. I've purchased single episodes of some other shows as recently as this week and these transfer and play just fine on my iPod (30 GB). If I hear anything more back from Apple I will post to this discussion.
I also have an iPhone and the episodes play fine, just not on my 5g video iPod. Regardless, Apple needs to step up and fix this issue. It is unacceptable that a $350 device that is only 19 months old is unsupported by a new software release.
By the way, the problem isn't related to season passes, as I have only purchased single episodes. It seems clear though that it is related to the recent iPod software upgrade.
Hmmm..I'm not sure that the problem is related to the recent iPod software upgrade because on the same day that I downloaded new episodes from my season passes I also downloaded some single episode purchases; those from the season passes won't play on my iPod but the single episodes will (hope this makes sense!).
