Atomic Bird, Macaroni

I was wondering if anyone here has used Atomic Bird's Macaroni product?

I was considering getting their prodcut, but I wanted to know if there are any happy users of the product, or any issues that I should be aware of.

Thanks in advance.

Kevin,

Just set it and forget it...

Automatic Daily/Weekly/Monthly Unix Maintenance/Mac OS X Repair Permissions/Mac OS X Localized File Removal.

Although all of these features can be handled by other utilities, Macaroni provides a convenient, automatic, safe and reliable space saving combination. It will safely remove as much as 1.4 Gb of unused language files from your system the first time you use it and will continue to remove these excess files after new installations.

I know of three other users who have not had any issues with Macaroni.

;~)

the OS itself will run missed routine maintenance at the next opportunity.

I have seen references to this, but I can't find an authoritative quote at present. In any case, Macaroni is not at all redundant as the regular maintenance jobs do not repair permissions or remove localized files. Many will tell you that there is no need to regularly repair permissions. If you look at the posts in these forums, however, you will see how many problems are indeed solved by just repairing permissions.
