RSS Feeds acting weird.

Hi all,

Starting today I noticed that my RSS feeds are acting up. The number in parentheses is shown for how many updates I have in each folder in the bookmarks bar, but when I click on the folder it often won't even tell me what site the number comes from.

Also, even after I open the link when it does tell me which site has new updates, the number doesn't change. So if I look at all the articles on a news site, I have no idea of telling when it's updated, since the number stays the same. Not sure why this is happening now, but that's what I'm here for. Please help.

Thanks,
G

Just in case you're curious, I've installed all available updates.

Hi Gabe

Safari RSS feed information is found in your User Account>Library>PubSub folder. Inside you'll find two folders, one containing the database, which may be corrupt. Move the Database.sqlite3 file in that folder to the desktop, then restart Safari. See if that restores the feed count. If it doesn't, move that file back to its original location and post back.

Thanks for the reply. I tried doing what you suggested and it didn't seem to do anything. I moved the file to the desktop and reset Safari and still no feeds. I actually just got home from being out all last night and was using Safari for a good 30 minutes before trying this, and fyi none of my feeds had been updated overnight. After clicking on them, you could see tons of new content had been added, though. Any other ideas?

So....I ended up having more problems with Safari after doing the steps recommended to me. I don't know exactly what happened, but every feed would hang and not finish loading the page. I ended up deleting all the feeds and re-adding them all, then restarting my Macbook. Seems like everything is working okay, so I guess one of the feeds was bad...or something. Who knows.

Thanks for the advice though.
