Allocating more memory to Macromedia Flash

Hi folks.

I'm having issues with Macromedia FlashMX 2004 pro. Simple tasks like copying and pasting frames or exporting movies causes the program to crash. This seems to happen not the first time I attempt such actions but after I've done it a couple of times. My thinking is that Flash needs more memory to run. I have 1GB of RAM which should be plenty, however when I Get Info on the Flash Application, it's set to only 128MB of RAM and that box is greyed out so that I cannot increase that number.
Can anyone tell me how to allocate more RAM to Flash when I'm running it?

Thanks
JP

Allocating memory is so pre-X. Get with the times man. 😉 Seriously though, OS X allocates memory on the fly. Meaning that you have no control over how much memory any given application can use. If it needs memory, it will take it. The fact that you can see that 128MB are allocated to the program, is because Flash is a carbon app. It can be run in OS 9 or OS X, and when running in OS 9, it will use 128MB. It's greyed out because you're in OS X and it means nothing. If Flash is running slowly, the problem lies somewhere else. (Given the specs of your rig, it should be running smoothly, I should think).

I thought that might be the case, but I wanted to get the word from folks with more Mac experience. I've only in the last 6 months switched my company's main OS to Mac. The last time I was working on the Mac OS full time was 2000-2001 and was using OS9 at the time which would explain my looking for an old school resolution to a new school problem.
Thanks for your input.
