Can't send mail to anyone else!

Hope some one can help with this as my isp charges a premium rate and hasn't got a clue about macs.

I've just set up a second mail account using all the settings from my original. I can receive mail through the new account okay but I can't send it, at least not to anyone else! But I can send messages to my original account.

Any ideas?.................. please

G5,G4,G3,Performa and even a Mac aquarium!

If you can send to yourself, it sounds as if your new account uses the SMTP-server of your old account. This would explain all symptoms you actually have.

Go to account preferences and check the SMTP-server for your new account.

Thanks for the response.

Both my accounts are with the same isp so I assumed the out going smtp server should be the same is this not the case.
