Send midi from software sequencer to midi out

I am quite new to logic and sometimes am confused about the midi routing...

I have a sequencer (Reaktor) in a software instrument track, from wich I want to send midi to my hardware synthesiser. (sometimes maby recording the midi coming out from reaktor to a midi track)
I have the output channel in Reaktor set to the same as the receive channel of my synthesiser. (everything works fine in Reaktor standalone)

But I was not able to do it from logic ...
I tried option-clic on the triangle in the track in the environnement, to draw a beautiful cable to the corresponding midi channel of my instrument track...
And a few other things...
My synthesiser still recieve nothing.

If anyone can show me the road, i will be very grateful.
Thanks

Unfortunately there is no road..

Logic does NOT support midi output of plugins, ie. even if the plugin itself transmits output to the outside world, the output is not available within Logic.

As you have noticed, midi routing in Logic is quite special. In contrast to other DAWs the tracks know nothing about midi input ports but only channels. So by design it's not possible to route the midi output port of plugins to tracks.

Yes, generally speaking you can always emulate plugin behaviour with the standalone version.

1. Use the IAC bus to send midi clock from Logic to the standalone, and midi data back to Logic.

2. Use soundflower or jack to route audio back into Logic.

So it's possible, but very inconvenient.

Also, when using IAC special care is needed to prevent feedback loops!
