Cannot Create Genius Appointment Because Last Name is "Bad Word"
I don't know when they started doing this, but this is discriminatory and makes me ineligible for Genius Bar support because they require a reservation through the Web system. I can't schedule an appointment, and therefore I am being discriminated.
I have bought an iPhone, 5 MacBook Pros for work, 2 MacBooks, and an Xserve. I hope Apple will reconsider blocking my last name through the Concierge application.
I should also mention that everyone with a desk has access to an iMac. We're an all Mac company and my being ineligible to bring our computers for support to the Genius Bar puts me at a disadvantage over other people
The message I get when using Concierge ( http://concierge.apple.com/WebObjects/Concierge.woa) is "This field contains inappropriate language."
I refuse to enter anything other than my last name because entering anything else would be tantamount to fraud. Given the level of precaution Apple takes to fraud, such as double checking IDs for even under $25 purchases, picking up laptops from Genius Bar, and other areas, I think they should respect my ability to enter my real last name.
