This topic might get locked but oh well. I was looking at the color ware site and I started wondering why would it void my warranty if I send my iphone in. I am not messing with the hard ware or anything like that. The only thing I would be doing is changing the color of the iphone so it doesn't look like every one else's iphone .
MacBook Pro,
Mac OS X (10.4.11),
iphone, 30gig ipod.
The 1yr warranty covers the hard ware of the iphone, if anything was to happen to it you send it to them and they will have it fixed or replace the iphone for you. I just didn't understand why it would void it with apple but for some reason I didn't even think about them having to take parts off the iphone. I am slow at times. Thanks though.
When you send in a iPhone to Color Ware. The iPhone warranty is void from Apple. And Color Ware only covers it for one month. If you buy a new product from Color Ware there is a one warranty on it...from Color Ware web site:
Does the coloring process affect any existing warranty I may have on my product?
As far as we understand other companies’ policies our color customization typically voids the original manufacturer’s warranty. If you purchase a new product from ColorWare we do include a 1 year parts and labor warranty that covers the coloring and hardware of the product. With a new product you also have the choice to upgrade to a two year warranty. If you choose to send in a product under the Send In Mine service ColorWare includes a 30 day parts and 1 year labor warranty covering the coloring and hardware of that product. There are no warranty upgrades available with the Send in Mine service.
They take parts of it apart to paint and they are not authorized to do so. But Colorware gives you a 1yr warranty themselves on the phone. Not fully sure how much that covers.
