Diablo LOD and Tiger

I don't know about running slow... but Diablo crashes unexpectedly everytime I play... I only manage to get maybe 15 minutes of game time before it freezes.

Diablo2 LOD hangs when I leave game (esc, then save and exit) in cow level. Never had this problem before.

My brother has terrible problems with slow graphics in Diablo 2 LoD since upgrading to 10.4.2. He has an ibook G4 1GHz.
Could this be a problem with specific graphic cards and Tiger?

This (slow Open GL performance in Diablo II LOD) has been a problem since 10.4 came out, and still is with 10.4.4. I was on Blizzard's support site today and they claim it's a driver issue and that "all parties involved have been notified". I hope something is done about it. It's as if there's no OpenGL support in the game anymore at all. It's faster to run the game in software emulation mode. 😟

And it's still not fixed in 10.4.5.

ive played diablo hundreds of times before, on windows. now ive installed the native installer and the 1.11b patch but my mac (10.4.6 powerbook) cant play it at all. it can get to the loading screen but when i click battle-net, it will do one of three things. One , it will freeze and quit. Two, it will get to 'checking versions' then stay there forever until i press cancel in which it will either take two minutes to cancel or it will freeze and quit. And three, it will let me log-in but i cant create a new account or login my existing because it will freeze and quit. Anyone know what i should do?

I just got the new iMac with Tiger and the Intel chip and it won't let me even install Diablo! This is not a good thing, even if the computer is real good at all the work stuff.

Disapointing news... I just ordered Diablo II and LOD a few days ago. I have version 10.4.7, I'll let you all know how well it runs with that. Also, I think the reason Diablo II dosen't install on Intel Macs has to do with not being a universial application.

Well, it won't even install, no matter what mode I pick using the Mac OS X native installer. I get an error message that says: "Assertion Failed! (unkown) \Volumes\Diablo II Install\Support\Installer Tome:-4" Anyone have any ideas?

Does that happen while it's in process of installing files off the CD? Maybe it's the CDs

I just re-installed Diablo 2 LOD last week without any issues on my PowerMac. It's not the most stable application running, but it works.

The CDs are brand new...

Suggest contacting Blizzard Support to see if they can help with the error code.

Sorry for the shortness of my last message, I was being forced off the computer. While attempting to install Diablo II again, my computer crashed, so I had to reset the RAM and install a spare hard drive to use at a boot disc, I installed Diablo II and LoD after cleaning the discs (Mike was right) and it played just fine on 10.4.0 after setting the video to the "software" setting. Everything runs great!

I have upgraded to 10.4.7 and the game still runs great is software mode, and just a bit sluggish in OpenGL mode. Prehaps the slower speeds many are experiencing have to do with a third party software?
