ipod touch capacity full of 'other'

This is a bit of an odd job. i've got a 16GB ipod touch with windows xp. It's got a few gigs of each on it, music, videos and photos, but then it's filled right up with 'other' and i can't get the rest of my music on it.

I don't know what 'other' is because i don't have any contacts, calendar info on it or anything like that.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of the other or at least how to find out what exactly the other is?

I don't want to restore the ipod because I have the whole 'the ipod cannot be synced. the device could not be read from or written to' fiasco so it takes me hours to put anything at all on there and i've had to do that so many times already.

all help appreciated! thanks

Hi Hudson132,

I'm happy to assist you today! Well, actually your problem has been talked several times here.

The "Other" category, normally should represent the Upgrades and firmwares you've installed, notes, calender informations...

In your case, it may be settings, upgrades and new firmwares and not much more.

However, sometimes your iPod's memory can become corrupted, probably as the result of an interrupted sync.

The unique way to get around this is to Restore the iPod Touch. You search wherever you want, that you'll receive the same answer. Sorry for any inconvenient, this may cause you!

Hope this helps!
