Scrolling Text Effect

Is it possible to have text scroll from the bottom, but when the text reaches mid screen it would then freeze and then begin to fade out?

Oscar,

Sorry, I'm no expert, but I'd think there's possibly two ways to do this . . .

One: Make a scrolling title for each title you need, then freeze it, and dissolve it (fade out).

Two: Use LiveType - I think this may have something similar to what you're asking, though you'll still probably have to tweek it a bit and maybe add the dissolve in FCE.

You might like to try the other forums for an answer too - LiveType and even Motion.

Good luck!

Not sure why it won't play alongside a clip. Are the scrolling credits over real footage or a black background? Is your real footage on 2/3 of the screen and the credits on the right (or left) with a black background? I'm trying to figure out how you want your final project to look. I tried it both ways and it worked for me. There's got to be a step your missing in the process.

The scrolling text is on a black background. Not sure what steps I would be missing.

I created a new sequence. Added the scrolling text I wanted. Exported it as a mov. Imported it as a mov. Added it to the end credit sequence That it's designed for. But when I try to play it alongside the existing scrolling text, it cancels it out and in pops the new scrolling text which is the imported mov clip. I hope this makes sense as to whats going on.

I want my scrolling text to scroll up from the bottom. then when it reaches the center I'd like for ir to stop, then I'd like it to fade out. All this to to come after previous scrolling text. This incorporates the credits to my film. But I do not want a big gap between my normal scrolling text and the lsat bit of scrolling text thats to freeze and fade out. In previous inserts to this trhead it was suggested that I create a sequence of scrolling text and then freeze it. then export it as a mov then imported back into the original sequence. However, this method is not working. I get a big gap between clips. he previous scrolling text and the new scrolling text which was imported.
