Question

Copy/Paste Illustrator/Photoshop?????

Why oh why did I upgrade to Tiger? lol...

Okay, now I cannot seem to copy from Illustrator and paste into Photoshop...

"Could not import the clipboard because the specified format is not in the edition."

I know I can just "open" the file with Photoshop, but what a pain! Anyone know of a solution to this?

Expect growing pains on every OS upgrade.

I am also running Tiger but have no problem copy and pasting between Illustrator and Photoshop.
I have Adobe Illustrator 10 and Photoshop CS. Which versions of AI and PS are you running?

You might try dumping the software (make sure you also trash the .plist files in the preference folders too) the re-install.

Illustrator CS and Photoshop CS (the first level of CS, not the CS2)...

Oh, what a pain... reinstall? Tiger is turning into a major headache. Panther ran very smoothly on my machine. I have no intention of upgrading to Tiger on my other 2 macs...

I am having the same problem, but it doesn't seem to be an issue of pasting.
Looks like it happens everytime I switch from Illustrator to any other appllication but have something rather big in the clipboard.
As soon I am out of AI, I get an error message saying:
"Acrobat PDF File Format is having difficulties. There was a Macintosh system error (-37)."
Once I click okay on this one, I get another right away:
"Acrobat PDF File Format is having difficulties. The file may be damaged."
I click okay on this one and AI quits.
Then I get that other message on Photoshop too.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Okay, this is turning into a big problem now. When you copy and paste from Illustrator to Photoshop, you get a nice clean line... when opening the file straight into Photoshop, you end up with greys. I really need that nice, crisp, black line that I can only get with a copy and paste... HELP!!!!

YAY!!! um, yeah, why I hadn't thought of trashing my Illustrator prefs earlier, the world may never know...

Great! Trashing prefs works with AI 10 too.
It was a bit annoying replacing all the palettes to their right place again, but so far, so good.

Has anyone noticed that the save for web feature of ps7 does not work with tiger. does any one know how to fix it

Hello,
If I am right, there are two formats (PDF and AICB) to use as clipboard in Illustrator. Select the other one while Adobe StartUp_.ai (located in Plug-Ins folder) is open. Save the modifications then quit the app to load it again.

Excellent! I just had the same problem (error -37) and the prefs seem to have been the problem. I don't know why this thread didn't turn up in my search, though -- I came across it by chance.
