Syncing mail accounts

Another syncing problem. When syncing I get the following error message: "Itunes count not sync mail accounts to the iPod [name] because an error occurred remapping record identifiers"

Does anyone know what this means and how I get round it please?

iMac Intel, Mac OS X (10.5)
