problems after installation

I assume that because you listed two problems independently, that the printer is not a USB printer? If that's the case, then open the Print & Fax preference pane, select the current printer and delete it. Then re-add the printer. Be sure to install the most recent printer driver for the printer. If there be more than one driver for the printer in Printer Setup and one of them is a Gimp or CUPS driver, try that one.

If the printer is a USB printer, then you need to tell us whether only the printer doesn't work or if all USB devices no longer work.

first, make sure that you have updated the system with all available patches. Then you should update the printer driver (mostly available at the manufactures homepage).

Finally (if it does not work yet), reset the printer system (Printer Setup Utility -> Reset Printing System) and add the printer anew from scratch.

If it still does not work, please tell us some details about the printer model in question and the driver version you use. If you can, please check wether other USB devices (flash sticks, card readers, bluetooth dongles etc. pp.) do work or not. And yes, maybe try any device including the printer on all USB ports of your PB.

I had the same problems with my upgrade...

You need to re-install the printer drivers. You can d/l the most current ones from the manufactures site or use the CD that came with the printer.

What kind of USB devices? You may have to just reinstall all of those drivers too.
