Leopard Install Disks> Compatibility?

While it might be possible, that would violate the license of the installer disks.

The MacBook discs are specifically for the MacBook--they won't work on an iMac or a PowerBook. You would need to buy the full retail version for the iMac and PowerBook. If you want to run Leopard on more than one computer, you should buy the family pack.

Leopard DVDs or CDs that come with a computer are specifically tailored for that computer and its hardware. They are also Intel or PPC specific. In addition it would be illegal.
I suggest buying a Leopard DVD rather than violate Apple's terms of use and license.

Illegal signifies a violation of a law (which may be the case, but no law was cited, here) - which is not necessarily the same as violation of terms and conditions of use - which is in essence a violation of a contract.

In any event, there exist technological, ethical and contractual reasons why single computer licensing of the Leopard installation CDs should not be used on more than one computer at a time.

The family pack is quite a good deal, and allows 5 installations, and it really is not much more expensive than the single computer software.
