Running apple mail on windows system

Hey all,

Is there anyway that I can download and run apple mail on a windows based system?

I just recently got a mac (first one!!) and am switching all my contacts to mail. But when I'm at work I'd like to have mail running on my windows based computer. I can check my mail through .mac right now, but would prefer if the program ran on my computer and told me when I got new e-mails as opposed to me having to keep checking through .mac. Anyway to accomplish this?

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

Not with the OS X Mail app, but there's no reason you can't configure your Windows email client (Outlook or whatever you use) with your .Mac account information.

That's why I did at my last job, where all I had was a Windows machine.

The same as you would any IMAP account.

I don't think the Windows version of Thuderbird will have .Mac as a default account type. You'll have to manually create it.

kay, I tried to set it up but I must be doing something wrong, it says the connection is being refused... also I must have missed an important step cause I wasn't asked for my password at any point.

Ensure you have the server port numbers entered correctly, and that you've enabled proper authentication methods (such as SSL for the incoming server).

my port # is 993 and my authentication is set as SSL I've also checked the 'use secure authentication' box. Still says connection refused
