Microsoft WPD FileSystem Volume Driver

I updated the software on my iPod Nano to 1.1. Since then, when I connect the iPod I get a message that the computer is trying to update the driver for "Microsoft WPD FileSystem Volume Driver." I cannot locate this driver and Vista does not install it if I reboot the computer. How may I fix this?

Quad core, Windows Vista

(Warning in advance: this is experimental advice.)

That driver is associated with the ReadyBoost in Vista. So if the nano is showing up in "Start > Computer" when you plug it in, although the following document discusses a different set of problems, perhaps try the "Disable ReadyBoost on Flash-Based Drives" section:

Troubleshooting iTunes for Windows Vista video playback performance issues

If the nano isn't showing up in "Start > Computer", you might be able to get it there if you put her into disk mode first:

Putting iPod into Disk Mode

If ReadyBoost was enabled, and you switch it off on the nano, remove the nano, restart the PC and try another connection. Any help with the Driver message?
