Protexis running hidden?

I know this is a problem for Windows users of Corel products, but I can't find any info for the Mac. My copy of Painter stopped working and the consensus seems to be a hidden licensing program that intermittently causes problems and, in Windows, needs to be removed from the registry to restore functionality.

Is there any way to check/delete processes and/or track this thing down in Leopard, or does anyone have any experience with the same problem?

This happened to me as well after having gotten a new machine and having moved all the stuff over. Go to HD -> Library -> Preferences and delete a file called "nTitles Product Licenses IV". If you open it in a text editor you'll find it's the Protexis file probably containing some registration information. After deleting this and restarting Painter you'll have to reactivate.

i have the same problem, and tried searching for "nTitles Product Licenses IV" file and i was surprised to find i had no preferences folder !! in the library folder ...so i tried searching for this file on the whole disk but no use ...and still i can't find any other solution on the web .. it's even twice the trouble with me cause I'm a new Mac user

what i found as a side solution was i created a new account on my system and i launched Painter X from there, but it very frustrating switching between user accounts all the time ... any help ??
