accidental insurance coverage for iphone

Your homeowners coverage might apply but you would have to check with them about that. If you used a credit card to buy the phone you may have some coverage, too...check your cardholder agreement.

If you own a home, check with your insurance company for your homeowners coverage. And the same if you rent and have renter's insurance.

I believe State Farm provides an addition rider for an existing homeowner's policy with State Farm that includes coverage for this - which is not very expensive with small deductible.

Allan, I don't believe State Farm is providing this anymore, I got a cancellation for my Treo and I believe others have posted here that they were either rejected for coverage by State Farm or cancelled.

Apple's warranty / AppleCare Protection Plan does not cover accidental (or intentional) damage, or loss or theft. My understanding is that AT&T does not offer insurance for any of its smart phones, not just the iPhone.

I would definitely recommend you check with the credit card used (if applicable) to purchase the iPod, as some of them offer that type of coverage, or some type of extended warranty coverage. American Express is usually really good for this.

Should something happen to the iPhone in your home or your car you may be able to obtain coverage for the device that way, or through rental insurance, if applicable. Check your policy documentation, or ask your agent.

i have a renters insurance policy that covers 10k for like less than 200 a year, through USAA (you have to be military, dependent of military, or your parents/spouse have to have it. "grandfather clause" i guess)

i know other insurance companies have similar plans but i am not sure if they are as good of a price.

I'd read the policy closely and make sure they are not excluding smart phones, PDAs, laptop computers, etc.

my dad had set the policy up when i came to school and he talked with the agents because the main point was to cover my computer and other electronics. the USSA reps are very truthful and helpful so i have no worries that they told him the wrong this for it, but that is a good thing to bring up to double check and for others to check when buying

The iPhone insurance is only $8.99 per month and they will cover any accident. You don't have to get you iPhone covered within 30 days of purchase and they cover all iPhones hacked or not.

Even though a rep says it, it's always up to the consumer to read the policy and verify that what is said is correct.

You left out the part about the $100 deductible.
