self dialing phone

I have had this happen three times. My iPhone will spontaneously dial someone and all three times I was unaware of it, yet the person on the other end could hear parts of me talking to someone I was with. The last time it happened to dial an answering machine and the conversation it recorded was somewhat embarrassing. That last time my phone redialed someone who had just called me and I am pretty positive I took the phone back to the icon screen before putting it in the phone holder on my belt. Has anyone else had anything similar to this happen?

I always put my phone to sleep (the button on the top of the phone next to where the sim card goes) when not actively using it. I've never had this happen to me, I have occasionally muted a call or called someone else while in a call but that's probably cos i wasn't holding the phone properly while using it.

I have had this happen to me too. Now I always hit the sleep/wake button as described in the other post, but make sure you hit the button 2x so that you can still hear calls coming in.
