Manually Managing Photos on iPhone

I just got my iPhone a few weeks ago and I'm really happy with it. It's life-changing actually. I'm still using my iPod for music but one thing that I really wanted it for was the photo library capability.

I have iLife 08 and cannot manually manage pictures. It only gives the options to sync the entire photo library (too big for the phone), or sync a certain number of events. So for example, even if I sync the 20 most recent events, there are still pictures in my library from older events that I want on the phone.

Dragging and dropping doesn't work. And the only option is to select certain folders with the pictures in them. However, if you have iLife 08 then you know that the pictures don't work as files anymore. You just have one file that is your "iPhoto Library." This is irritating me. You can manually manage music, but I can't figure out how to manually manage pictures.

Am I missing something?

Hey hoteltango,

You can create a iPhone photo album in iPhoto and sync that album only to the iPhone. Just click the plus in the bottom left corner of iPhoto and then drag the photos you want on the iPhone into that album. This article describes howto make a photo album in more detail: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iPhoto/7.0/en/6263.html

This article walks thorough syncing photos to an iPod/iPhone.
