Question Mark instead of mouse pointer

Hi

I don't know why, but I today turned on my mac, to find when i try using Safari, Finder etc I get a question mark instead of a mouse pointer. The question mark stops me from clicking anything, and when i go into the File, Edit, View menus etc the blue highlighter jumps to the bottom.

Anyone know what is happening?

I get a question mark cursor (in some applications, e.g., Safari) when I press the "Help" button on my keyboard. But the cursor goes back to normal when I click on something. I suppose your keyboard could be the trouble. But, what I really wanted to do is ask you: Does this behavior persist after a Logout/Login and/or Restart?
