How to stop the music from playing ?

Okay, this might be an easy fix but I can't figure it out.
I listen to music on the iphone, enjoying and having fun. I then decided to stop, so I press the pause button since there isn't a stop button, then I turn the sleep/wake button to turn the unit off. I then notice after about a minute or two, the unit is playing music again.

How do I turn this off after I finish listening ??

Hey Rickie,

When you pause a track it should stay paused until you tap play or click the button on the iPhone Stereo Headset.

+When iPhone is locked, nothing happens if you touch the screen. You can still listen to+
+music and adjust the volume, and use the button on the included stereo headset to+
+play or pause a song, or answer or end a call.+

If the iPhone is not behaving normally, you can try resetting and/or restoring.
