You can use a composite RCA connection or an S-Video connection, through an USB interface device like this one
to display the feed in a window on the screen (or go full screen). It's basically a standard-definition video capture device plus software, so there are many other similar products.
I don't know of any device that works with a VGA connection, unless you can convert VGA to RCA or S-Video.
Does anyone at Apple read these forums? An IMAC with a VGA/DVI input as well would be ideal to be able to use the imac as a monitor.
It would increase sales certainly. I was looking at the IMAC for such a consideration, and would have bought without hesitation, but now, the answer is a no, simply because it doesn't have the feature.
So many potential customers not gotten because someone isn't thinking...
