How do I rename or add a link in Mail?

i don't even know WHERE to search this topic (and doing so shows what i hope to learn, but not how to do it...)

how do you write the a href to rename a link? i am so very, very close, but i can't remember the whole process.

The format for "a href" is <a href="URL">LINK TEXT</a>.

However, in mail, all you have to do is select some text, click Edit>Link>Add, and copy the URL in the dialog box.

the was what i was after. i remain unclear, however, on how to include and then rename a link in mail. if i wanted to send someone to a site, how might i provide a link in mail that reads simply "click here" that will direct the reader to the site?

what that was to read was "the <@ hr#f description was what i was after, but how do i change the URL in a mail to read what i choose...like "click here" rather than the actual URL copy/paste method.

1. Type, in mail, "Click here." (or some other text).
2. Select "Click here."
3. Click Edit>Link>Add
4. Copy the URL you want to link to into the dialog box.
5. Click "OK".

That's it. You don't have to mess around with HTML. Mail makes it much simpler than that for you.

perfect.
both sets of instructions were brilliantly clear...but i had reversed one step that resulted in a mental meltdown. there were carrots in the pea patch.
