Ever since i installed the security update 2005-008 for 10.4 everytime i restart my imac i lose half of my menu items. I have menu meteers, blutooth, displays, you control:itunes, and stuffit. when i restart i lose menu meters, bluetooth, and display. when i go into system preferences they are still checked. if i uncheck and re-check they come back. I ran cocktail and onyx but niether helped. i even ran disk utility to repair permissions just to make sure and it still occurs. what is going on here? i might try and run the update again but don't know if that will help. any advice is appreciated thanx.

This can happen if your display resolution is too small to show all of the icons in the menu bar. Is your iMac set to use the highest supported resolution in /System preferences/Displays?
It is currently set to 1680 X 1050, millions which is the max resolution.
I have had the same problem with a few other interesting issues since installing 2005-008.
After running my system for a few minutes, I try to launch Terminal.app. The window appears with "Command Completed" in the title however the terminal window is blank.
If I start the Mac and then load the terminal immediately the terminal is displayed however after a few minutes of running if I perform an ls -l or other commands I get an error "could not folk".
Half the Widgets in Dashboard do not load correctly.
console.log contains a few errors relating to folk.
system.log has a few errors relating to process crash reports.
Other werid things are occuring. Something weird appears to be happening with resource allocation.

yeah i was having a problem with my widgets loading also. They wouyldn't load at all and if they would my CPU would max out at 100% for a couple of minutes and then they would finally load. I onlt got like 4 widgets running. the weather, radar, google search, sysstats. This is the first problem i've had with an update. i plan on re-formatting soon anyway. its a yearly habit and it coming to that time again.
Yeah ever since the update I'm having some sort of memory issue. If I load a few applications they begin to crash or refuse to load!
It dosen't appear to be affecting others!
