New 2008 iMac or Refurbished 2007 iMac?

I just read about the new iMacs. Aside from the 24" model, there doesn't seem to be very much difference between the 2008 and 2007 versions. Am I missing anything? Where there some underlying problems with the 2007's that may have been addressed in the recent refresh?

Thanks,
Kelly

Basically the same machine but not quite. The new iMacs have faster RAM 800MHz vs 667MHz, a faster FSB 1066MHz vs 800MHz, and the new 45nm processors with 6MB cache instead of 4MB. These are all very small upgrades but all added together makes it worth while.

Also the 45nm processors use less power than the 65nm processors. Less power = less heat dissipation so this might help reduce internal temperatures.

Beg to differ, there was/is a major issue on the 2007 iMacs both 20 and 24" models in that the screens have gradient differentials that have been widely reported and are well known. It shouldn't bother a normal "mac life" user. You probably wouldn't notice it if you are watching movies, surfing, spread sheets or the family pics, etc.

If you are a serious photographer or any serious content creator using image editing programs and concerned about color correction, its a <snort> no pun intended, glaring problem. The hope is that the brand new iMacs will have solved this problem. We shall see.
