Connecting Mac Mini to a new HDMI TV with DVI cable...

I have a DVI to HDMI cable. Bought it off ebay. Do a search there under video accessories. Sorry, can't remember the name of who I bought it from. But as I remember, they are very common items in the aftermarket. Mine was less than 20 bucks shipped. Works good too, though am connecting a satellite tuner to a HDMI tv.

If you really can not find one on ebay, let me know and will dig through my old emails to find the seller. But this may take awhile.

Just to update you. Checked the usual two electronic superstores and they have the Monster Cable Brand for about 100 bucks. One of the cables I purchased off ebay was a Cables to Go brand for about 20 bucks delivered. It works just great, hope you have good luck shopping for one.

I have a Mac Mini and a Philips 42PF9630A/37 42" plasma tv. I bought a DVI to HDMI conversion cable, but I can't seem to get an image on my tv. I am new to this. The Mini shows a screen when hooked up to a standard vga lcd monitor. Any suggestions on how to get the two to work together?

As your first post here, I guess you're excused. But it's a bad idea to tag onto someone else's thread with a differernt problem. That's is called threadjacking. It's a sure way to get ignored or take the thread off track. Post new when you have a new issue.

Anyway, did you get answers to your question? I am not that knowledgeable in the area of monitors and their settings, but recall having to activate the HDMI port on my TV when I set it up with my Mini.

I am having a similar issue. I have a mac mini 1.4, 1GB RAM and want to connect to my hdmi ready tv. I have had no success when connecting a DVI to HDMI cable. Nothing shows up on my screen. Please advise
