What happens at end of call

Hi i have just noticed then after reciving a call on my iphone running the latest software.

After i have ended a call the phone just goes to sleep i then have to press the home botton then slide the button across to unlock the phone and get back to the contacts screen.

Is this normal or not as i almost sure a few days ago after a call it returned to the normal screen, Ie i did not have to unlock the screen again to get back to make another call.

I have reset the phone twice now but i still have to unlock after every call.

Anybody got any ideas pleae

Thank you for the advice yes i know the phone was asleep before the call and some of them have been long calls well past the auto sleep time and the phone did go back to sleep.

I see what you mean about someone getting my phone and waiting for a call then using my phone. but it would be easy just as easy for someone else just to slide the button and use the phone just like me.

Do you surgest i set a pass code so when i slide the button i have to put in the passkey number.

Come to think of it that might not be a bad idea this will then lock my phone to everybody except me, is that right

I HIGHLY recommend setting a passcode. If not, anybody that gets your phone can not only call with it, but email with your accounts, buy via iTunes WiFi store, get access to all sites you have logged into and that site allowed saving login info, etc. *A LOT* of personal data will end up on your phone.

So yes set the passcode option. And note, Apple was good in this reguard. You can set it to require a passcode everytime you unlock, or you can set it to only require a passcode after x number of minutes have passed since it got locked (standby by timeout or by lock button). I have mine set to 5 mins. So once I am done using it (lets say sending a SMS) and I click lock and put in my pocket. If I pull it out again within 5 mins, I only have to slide to unlock, I will not have to enter code. But if longer than 5 mins then have to slide, then enter code.

It depends on how long the call is. For a short call that completes before the sleep timeout it will go back to the Phone screen. If it's a long call and has already timed out it will go to sleep at the end of the call.

That makes complete sense, and explains why my iPhone would sometimes go to sleep after ending a phone call that I placed, specifically one that lasts more than a few minutes.. it was annoying, but if you think about it, there is no activity on the screen or buttons(if the phone is to your ear) and extends past the inactivity time to auto shut-off.

Here's another good reason to set a passcode. If you don't have one, anyone who picks up your phone, can set a passcode.

In other words, you set your phone down for a second, or lend it to someone to make a quick call, whatever. That person sets a passcode before giving it back to you. You're now locked out of your own phone. A restore might fix it; I haven't tried.

If you've set a passcode, it cannot be changed or disabled without entering it first.

Thanks guys that makes perfect sence to set a pass code, i was reluctant to set a code as i di not want to have to input the code every time i unlocked the phone.
I was not aware i could set a time before the pass lock came into operation.

I will set one now and if i understand you right if someone get my phone even if it turned on they will not be able to access it.

Brillint thank you guys i dont know what i would do without this forum

Regards To you all
