WoW on Macbook

Hi,
I recently got a Macbook and have a desktop that I use for gaming; however, I am curious if the Macbook will be able to handle the one game I play, WoW.

Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Memory 2GB

The thing that concerns me is the graphic card.
INTEL GMA X3100

According to the things I've read, the game will run for a while, but soon the machine will die out and be ruined. One thing I do not want to do is ruin the Macbook so I am checking here to see if it is save to run the game (long term).

thanks

Agreed, I can't imagine it would ruin it

May get pretty hot however, due to the integrated graphics.

According to Intel, the GMA 965 Chipset family can run WoW
See http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/intelgm965/sb/CS-026146.htm

EDIT: Although many of the games are tested under xp. Can't imagine why it wouldnt work in os x though

Hi,

I have an older MacBook that I am running WoW on just fine. I have the default video settings (I don't see too well anyway), but it looks fine to me. I have had the machine for about a year and WoW has given me no trouble.

I have heard that some people have had issues with the newer video card, but I can't say for sure, having only used mine. Perhaps someone with a brand new machine can say for sure. You may also want to check the Mac Technical Support on the WoW forums, if you haven't already.

You'll definitely want to max out the RAM if you haven't already done so. WoW is incredibly RAM hungry.
