Windows Explorer crashes when plugging or unplugging ipod touch

Seems something is buggy with Itunes 7 or the Ipod Touch itself. This happens to me on 2 different computers, one Dell and one HP so I doubt seriously if it is the computers themselves. All of my drivers on both systems are up to date.
When I plug in the IPOD it will work and sync, however when I unplug it I get a windows explorer crash each time. Needless to say this is irritating as heck.
Anyone else having this problem?

make sure your clicking the eject button before you unplug the ipod from the computer, if not you run the risk of corrupting the files on the ipod or the computer. you may want to do a disk check in windows as well.

Ok thank you, I didn't even know there WAS an eject button. Maybe I should take my own advise and read the itunes faq eh? ...grin

Download Firefox and you won't have that problem.

Also, the eject button is a good idea. 😉

Grin, thanks for your suggestion Jess, however it's Windows Explorer that crashes, not Windows Internet Explorer. Alas, even after using the eject button it still does it so I imagine it's a bug that will be fixed sometime. 🙂

Windows Explorer always crashes on my laptop when I plug-in/unplug my Ipod Touch,too. I hoped 2.0 and the new Itunes would fix it but no.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem on my iMac running Window XP on Bootcamp. Most times when I unplug by iPhone (even after ejecting from iTunes) Windows Explorer crashes.

It also happens sometimes when I plug the iPhone in. It wasn't a problem until the last few months, perhaps after an XP update.

Any ideas how I can stop this happening Apple people?

I have the same problem, even when i use the eject button. I hate vista but on my pc i have no choice but to run it. Never had any problems on my Macs. i also get a strange error on work pc running XP. It says at first that it doesn't recognize the device running in compatibility mode but then it switches over and works fine. I tend to blame it on Microsoft crap, maybe they are updating their OSes to mess with Apple products.

this is most likely a windows issue and not an ipod issue, I would suggest google, iv never had this happen any of my 1000000 computers mac or pc
