when do new macbook pros usually come out?

I need to get a macbook pro but am not sure if the current version is just released or if they have been out for a while. When are the new macbook pros usually released?
I would hate to buy a new macbook pro and then a week later see that they just released the new macbook pros.

The were released on Feb 26.

Regardless of whether you buy one today and a new one comes out next week, the computer you buy today will still serve you well for many months. So if you need one now, then buy it, as if you keep waiting for the next best thing you'll always be waiting.

I realize that the current model will serve me well but I'm just asking if there is a certain time of the year when new macbook pros usually get released. I don;t need it for a couple of months but if they don;t usually release the new models until August then I might as well just get it now, but if they usually release a new model in June then I might as well wait.
If the latest models were released on Feb 26th how long historically before the new models usually come out?

Average length of time between updates to the MBP line is a little over 6 months. Some updates are major, some minor. See this:

Sig summed it up perfectly - only Apple knows what's coming and when, and they don't usually let the rest of us know in advance.

A few months?? I bought a MacBook Pro in February the day after they came out to replace a 4 year old PowerBook G4, which served me very well and is still going strong. Otherwise, I totally agree with Templeton Peck, if you need one now, buy it, it will serve you well, even if a new model comes out the day after...
