Installing Scrabble on Mac OS X

Installing Scrabble on Mac OS X

I have been trying to find a version of Scrabble that is compatible with Macs. I eventually found one on ebay and it arrived today. When I tried to install it, it says it is not supported on this system.
Does anyone know why this may be as I'm not overly familiar with computers at the best of times.
Any help would be much appreciated.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

snackling, welcome to Apple Discussions.

Your Macbook is running Tiger. Did the eBay auction say it was compatible with OS X? I suspect the version you got requires OS 9 & below? Is there anything on the packing or CD to indicate what OS is required? If not, is there a Read Me/Instruction file on the CD that might say what OS?

I have looked on the read me and it doesn't say anything about it, but on the box it say's MacOS 8.1 or later. I suspect it doesn't mention Mac OS X because it hadn't been invented when the game was made. Do you know of any way I can get it to work ?

It will probably run in "classic" mode, but you need OS 9.2.x installed on your Macbook.

It will probably run in "classic" mode, but you need OS 9.2.x installed on your Macbook.

Intel Macs don't support Classic mode, Tom. You probably know that, though, and just weren't being clear in your post.
