Quartz visualizations in Motion 3

I know it can be done with the audio behaviors. I just don't know how.

probably the quartz composition will need some tweeking, but i think it will be neat to see that working.

Any ideas?

thanks for the answer.

I was familiar with this plug ins.

What I'm trying to find is a method of making music visualizers in Quartz composer (think the itunes visualizers) attach a audio behavior in motion and be able to export that to any movie format.

in other words: make a .qtz file react to the audio waves inside motion.

there is a plug in called veeyou that does that but you need to stick to the quartz files that they provide.

I want to use my own.

cheers.

From the first ansswer:

or possibly this

But I'm curious about this statement:

Publish your Quartz composition say in FxFactory with a parameter that will control the animation.

I could probably look it up in the—gasp—manual but how does one "publish quartz compositions?" he asked innocently.

FxFactory takes a Quartz Composition and bundles or wraps it into an FxPlug that FCP, FCE & Motion understand.

So lets take something simple like a colour that would change in QC when a value from 0 to 1 was applied to it. You can 'publish' this variable in QC and when FxFactory wraps the composition, this variable will be made into a parameter in the plugin that can be adjusted from within the host application i.e. Motion.

Then apply an audio behavior to this parameter and bingo, the colour will animate.

I could knock up a quick example if anybody is interested.
