exporting an iphoto slideshow to play in itunes

I want to export a slideshow from iphoto to itunes so i can sync it with my iphone.
I know it can be done, i did one 6 months ago to put it on my ipod, but i can remember how i did it.
I know it has to be in the .m4v format
please help!

Mac pro G5, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

Hey richkyd,

You can export your slideshow from iPhoto as a .Mov file by going to File> Export.
You can also click Share> iDVD. When you share to iDVD, it creates a video file in /Users/your user/Movies

From there you should be able to transfer the video to the iPhone. But, you can convert the video as described in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1211
Highlight the video in iTunes> Advanced> convert for iPhone.

HI - i have followed the instruction on the support doc you suggested - worked perfectly - converted the .mov - m4v.
I then tried this with my slideshow, exported it from iphoto, saved it to desktop as a .mov file.
When i got it into itunes, and selected advance - the "convert to iphone" selection was not there!

I also have the same problem. It appears to be the iTunes music that I put in my slideshow that causes the problem. iTunes won't convert movie to iPod/iPhone if it has protected music. You can export slideshow to .mov, open up with iMovie and export to iPhone.
