I am considering a Mini, but must use a wacom Intous 3 tablet. A while back I saw a post that mentioned that they were not able to get it to work, but could not find any other posts about this subject. Is there anyone using an Intuos 3 with a mini and was there anything unique about hooking it up. Thanks ahead of time.

Wacom tablets work with all macs, but when you get yours you will need to go to their website and get the latest driver rather than using the one on the cd, most likely.
Thank you Barbara...I will absolutely do that as soon as I figure out which mac I can get. I did a little more research and found that the post I had read earlier I think was trying to figure out how to use an Intuos with a serial port instead of a USB...and was directed to a site called Griffen Technology which has a devise called "imate" that is a converter so that you can use your older serial devices with USB.
I've used a Wacom Graphire 3 on the mini without problems. As mentioned previously, just install the software from www.wacom.com .
Hi, Karen. I hope yours is USB? The serial conversion thing can be iffish sometimes.
Yes, it is USB and I'm so glad. I was considering the Mini because I really wanted the 23" display, but did not want to spend 4000.00 to get it with a tower - but I think I'm leaning toward the 20" imac since I do work with files that are often over 100mb.
Hi,
I've had some problems with intous 3 drivers and OS X 4 Tiger, where I have to unplug the tablet when starting up ( see Wacom.com). It doesn't stop me loving Tiger tho, or my Wacom tablet. It works fine once it's going.
good luck with the switch whatever you choose. 🙂

I have a Graphire3 and can't wait to see how it runs on my mac mini. I know the Intuos drivers are awesome because, well, the Intuos is awesome! :P But the Graphire drivers are so much nicer for a mac then for windows. Haha finally I can have application-specific preferences!
Sorry, off topic. But good luck with that Intuos! 😀 Hope it works out great!
